Marisa Lawrence, ATR-BC, LPC received her B.A. in psychology from Moravian College in 2003. She then received her M.A. from Drexel’s Creative Arts in Therapy program in 2005. Since completion of graduate studies in 2005, Marisa has been working as an art therapist in the community with a diverse population of adults and children in hopes to educate and facilitate the healing power of art and a therapeutic relationship.
Marisa is highly dedicated to helping families strengthen their relationships through her personal and clinical experience and knowledge in art therapy practices. Marisa has always loved the visual arts and was introduced to art therapy when she was in high school by her older sister who was studying music therapy at the time.
Although Marisa works with a variety of ages, she specializes in teenagers. She feels these years are challenging, yet powerful in planting seeds for growth in the future. Marisa leads a therapy group for high school girls that focuses on self-esteem, universality and positive coping.
